Standing upright is the number that matters. Ten bottles of standing means you can pack a case for a weekend and still have room around them for ice and tumblers, rather than stacking bottles flat and losing half the volume to air.
Is the 24L Trunk really a bar in a box?
Close enough that the phrase stuck. It is an insulated trunk, not a drinks cabinet: there is no shelf, no glass rack and no bottle opener built into the lid. What it does is hold a full bar’s worth of bottles upright and cold for two days, which is the part people actually want.
