Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of sadecshopers.co.za and every order you place with Sadec Online Shoppers. Please read them before you buy. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to them.

Nothing in these terms limits or replaces the rights the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other South African law gives you. Where a term here conflicts with those rights, the law applies and the term does not.

1. Who we are

Sadec Online Shoppers is an online retailer based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, trading since 2021. We sell SMEG kitchen appliances, Fieldbar outdoor drink boxes and gin trunks, and Stanley drinkware to customers across South Africa.

2. The products we sell

We are an independent retailer. SMEG, Fieldbar and Stanley are trade marks owned by their respective proprietors. We are not the manufacturer of any product we sell, and we are not an agent of those manufacturers. Their trade marks and product images appear on this site so that we can describe the goods we stock.

We describe every product as accurately as we can. Colours shown on screen depend on your display and may differ slightly from the product itself. Product images are illustrative; accessories shown in a photograph are not included unless the description says so. Dimensions, capacities and specifications are supplied by the manufacturer and may change without notice.

3. Prices

All prices are shown in South African Rand and include VAT where VAT applies. The price you pay is the price displayed at the moment you complete checkout.

Prices can change at any time before you place an order. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a technical fault or human error, we are not obliged to sell it at that price. If this happens after you have paid, we will contact you, and you may either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

4. Placing an order

When you submit an order you are making an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received it. A sale agreement only comes into existence when we accept your order and dispatch the goods.

We may decline an order where the product is out of stock, where the price was incorrectly listed, where we cannot verify your payment or delivery details, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. If we decline an order you have already paid for, we refund you in full.

Before you complete checkout you will have an opportunity to review your order and correct any errors. Please check your delivery address carefully — we cannot redirect a parcel once it has been collected by the courier.

5. Payment

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment must clear in full before we dispatch. Card payments are processed by our payment provider over a secure connection; Sadec Online Shoppers does not receive or store your full card number.

6. Delivery

We deliver throughout South Africa. Delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend.

Delivery timeframes quoted on the site are estimates, not guarantees. They begin from the date payment clears, and they exclude weekends and public holidays. Deliveries to outlying areas may take longer.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please inspect your parcel when it arrives. If it is visibly damaged, note this with the courier and tell us within 48 hours.

If nobody is available to receive a delivery, the courier will attempt redelivery. Where repeated attempts fail through no fault of ours, we may charge the actual cost of further delivery attempts.

7. Cancelling an order

Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you the right to cancel an order placed online, without giving a reason and without penalty, within seven days of receiving the goods. You pay only the direct cost of returning them.

To exercise this right the goods must be unused and returned complete, in their original packaging, with all accessories and documentation. Certain goods are excluded from this right by law, including perishable goods and goods made or personalised to your specification.

8. Faulty goods and your warranty rights

Section 55 of the Consumer Protection Act entitles you to goods that are of good quality, in good working order and free of defects. Section 56 gives you six months from delivery to return goods that fail that standard, and to choose between a repair, a replacement or a refund.

Beyond six months, the manufacturer’s warranty applies where one exists. We will help you lodge a claim under it.

These rights do not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised repair, normal wear and tear, or use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions. Full detail is set out in our Return & Refund Policy.

9. Stock availability

Stock levels shown on this site are updated automatically, but a product can sell out between the moment you add it to your cart and the moment you pay. If we cannot supply something you have paid for, we will tell you and offer a comparable alternative or a full refund. The choice is yours.

10. Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that takes place under your login. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has gained access to it. Please keep your contact and delivery details current — we rely on them to reach you about your order.

11. Using this website

You may use this site to browse our catalogue and place orders. You may not use it to do anything unlawful; attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any account, server or network connected to it; introduce malicious code; scrape, copy or republish its content for commercial purposes; or interfere with its normal operation.

We aim to keep the site available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice, including for maintenance.

12. Intellectual property

The layout, design, text and original photography on this site belong to Sadec Online Shoppers or are used under licence. You may not reproduce them without our written permission.

Manufacturer product images, brand names and logos remain the property of their owners and are used to identify the goods we sell.

13. Links to other websites

This site may link to websites we do not control. Those links are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content of any external site, and a link is not an endorsement.

14. Liability

We take reasonable care to keep the information on this site accurate and current. Specifications, prices and availability can change, and the site may occasionally contain errors or omissions, which we correct as soon as we become aware of them.

To the extent the law allows, Sadec Online Shoppers is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or from a delay in delivery. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including our obligations under the Consumer Protection Act.

15. Your personal information

We process your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. We collect only what we need to process your order, deliver it and support you afterwards, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

We share your details with our couriers and payment providers only to the extent needed to fulfil your order. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to its processing, by emailing info@sadecshopers.co.za.

16. Complaints and disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first at info@sadecshopers.co.za or +27 63 944 0330. We would rather resolve a problem directly, and we will acknowledge your complaint and work to settle it promptly.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud at cgso.org.za, or to the National Consumer Commission. Referring a complaint to either body costs you nothing and does not affect your right to take the matter further.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place an order is the version that governs that order. Please check back before ordering again.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court having jurisdiction over you, even where the claim would otherwise exceed that court’s limits.

19. General

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remain in force. If we do not enforce a term immediately, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These terms, together with our Return & Refund Policy, make up the whole agreement between us regarding your use of this site.
