Smeg Kettles

The Smeg 50’s Style kettle is the KLF03, and it is the appliance most people buy first from the range. A 1.7 litre stainless steel body on a 360-degree base, 2400 W so a full jug boils in about three minutes, auto shut-off at the boil and boil-dry protection if it goes on empty. Sadec Online Shoppers is an independent South African retailer – we buy genuine, boxed Smeg stock and resell it, and every kettle here is priced a flat 39% below Smeg South Africa list. The gloss colours list at R4,199 and sell here for R2,561.

Eleven colours in the standard KLF03. The gloss finishes are R2,561 and the matt finishes, which list higher at R4,799, are R2,927: White R2,561, Cream R2,561, Black R2,561, Red R2,561, Pink R2,561, Pastel Blue R2,561, Pastel Green R2,561, Emerald Green R2,927, Storm Blue R2,927, Champagne R2,927, Black Matt R2,927.

Three sit outside the standard range. The variable-temperature KLF04 in pink is R3,293 and holds a set temperature between 50 and 100 degrees, which matters for green tea and pour-over coffee where a full boil scorches the leaf or the grind. The Dolce & Gabbana Blu Mediterraneo at R8,905 – against a R14,599 list price – is hand-decorated in the Sicilian majolica print rather than finished in a flat colour. There is also a high-gloss seven-cup model at R2,561.

Every kettle here is genuine, new and boxed. Delivery is free anywhere in South Africa with no minimum spend, and the six-month Consumer Protection Act warranty runs through us as the seller rather than through a Smeg service agent. The 50’s Style toasters are made in the same colours and finishes and are priced to match at R2,561, and the coffee grinders complete the set. Browse the full Smeg range or read how delivery works.

Smeg kettles in South Africa: common questions

How much is a Smeg kettle in South Africa?

R2,561 for the standard 1.7L 50’s Style kettle in gloss, against a Smeg South Africa list price of R4,199 - a flat 39% off. The matt finishes (black matt, champagne, emerald green, storm blue) are R2,927 against a R4,799 list. The variable-temperature KLF04 is R3,293 and the Dolce & Gabbana edition R8,905 against R14,599.

Why is the Smeg kettle cheaper here than elsewhere?

Because we are an independent retailer rather than a franchised showroom. We buy genuine, boxed Smeg stock and resell it with far lower overheads, so the saving lands on the price. The kettle in the box is identical, including the model code.

What is the difference between the KLF03 and the KLF04?

The KLF03 is the standard kettle - it boils and switches off. The KLF04 adds temperature control: seven settings from 50 to 100 degrees plus a twenty-minute keep-warm. It is worth the extra R732 if you drink green or white tea, or make pour-over coffee, where boiling water spoils the result.

How long does a Smeg kettle take to boil?

About three minutes for a full 1.7 litre jug at 2400 W. It shuts off automatically at the boil, and boil-dry protection cuts it if it is switched on empty.

Which colours are available?

Eleven in the standard model: white, cream, black, black matt, red, pink, pastel blue, pastel green, emerald green, storm blue and champagne. Plus the pink variable-temperature model, a high-gloss seven-cup version and two Dolce & Gabbana editions.

Do the kettle and toaster match?

Yes. Smeg makes the 50’s Style kettle and toaster in the same colours and the same finish, so a cream kettle and a cream toaster sit together as a pair. Toasters are R2,561 in the same gloss colours.

Is Sadec Online Shoppers an authorised Smeg dealer?

No, and we do not claim to be. We are an independent South African retailer that buys genuine, new, boxed Smeg stock and resells it. Your after-sales support runs through us rather than through a Smeg service agent.

What warranty comes with the kettle?

The six-month warranty against defects that the South African Consumer Protection Act gives every buyer, and it sits with us as the seller. If it is faulty in that window you can ask for a repair, a replacement or a refund. Call 063 944 0330 first so we can arrange collection.
