Smeg Red 26cm Non-Stick Casserole Pan
This is the high-sided casserole: 26cm across and 7.7 litres, which is the bigger of the two shapes Smeg makes. The depth is the point – it holds a whole braise, a big pot of soup or a stew for six without boiling over, where the low-sided 24cm version at 5.4 litres is better for anything you want to reduce. Tempered glass lid with a stainless rim, cold-forged aluminium body, oven safe to 250°C.
A note on the coating, because the two Smeg cookware lines are not the same. This is the 50s Style line, which uses a three-layer PTFE non-stick rather than the PFAS-free ceramic on the Cookware line pieces in black, cream and emerald green. Both are oven safe to 250°C, both are dishwasher safe and both take induction; the difference is the coating chemistry, and it is worth knowing which one is in your basket.
