Smeg Cream 20cm Non-Stick Saucepan
A 20cm, 3.1 litre saucepan with a long stainless steel handle and a tempered glass lid – the everyday pot for rice, pasta for two, sauces and reheating. The long handle stays cooler than a looped one because it holds the heat further from the body, and the glass lid means you are not lifting it to check. Cold-forged aluminium with a patented radiant bottom, so it works the same on a gas ring or an induction plate.
The coating is the reason to buy this range. Smeg’s Cookware line uses a ceramic non-stick made without PFAS, nickel or heavy metals, rather than the PTFE coating most non-stick pans at this price still use. It is oven safe to 250°C and dishwasher safe, though hand washing keeps any ceramic surface sharper for longer. The 50s Style pieces in red use a three-layer PTFE coating instead, so check which line you are buying if that matters to you.
